Document 7, the UK’s only film festival dedicated to international human rights, will take place in October 2009 in Glasgow. Now in its 7th year, the festival is seeking submissions (deadline: 5th June 2009) which help us understand the world around us. From politically charged frontline reportage to cinematic explorations of what it is to be human, they welcome films which challenge, engage and bring new perspectives to the festival and its audience. Applications are invited from both established and emerging documentary filmmakers, and forms are available to download at www.docfilmfest.org.uk. For further information please e-mail Mona at docfest[at]gmail.com or tel: +44(0)141 429 0185.

Document 7 would also like to discuss programming opportunities and establish relationships with organisations and individuals interested in collaborating on projects which explore human rights. They are particularly keen to make connections with music venues, promoters and organisations with a view to building a programme of related music events during the festival. If you would like to discuss possible collaborations, or know more about the festival, please contact Neill Patton on tel: +44(0)7801 441643 or e-mail: neill.document[at]gmail.com.
